Energy Efficient Commercial Lighting

The answer to energy efficient commercial lighting has as much to do with the type of bulb, as it has to do with the power source.

Standard lighting uses incandescent blubs that produce light and heat. In fact, only five to eight percent of the energy used in an incandescent goes to producing light. The rest is wasted heat.

If every commercial property replaced just one incandescent bulb with a Compact Florescent Light (CFL) it would reduce emissions equivalent to one million cars.

A CFL is the most energy efficient commercial lighting blub available. This is because it has the best lumen-per-watt ratio. Meaning it produces the best light for the amount of electricity it uses.

A Light Emitting Diode (LED) uses far less energy than a CFL and will last six times longer as well. For this reason, the LED is being combined with solar power to provide a form of energy efficient commercial lighting that puts the minimal amount of burden on our natural resources.

LED bulbs and solar power are strong enough and dependable enough to provide commercial lighting for all types of property. With increasingly enthusiastic awareness and support from the government, solar lighting may become the standard in energy efficient commercial lighting.
